The hCG Diet phase 3 should be started no less than 21 days after you started phase 1. That is the minimum amount of time it takes for the hCG to get into your system and reprogram your weight set point (the weight your body naturally wants to rest at). If you still have weight to lose, then you can stay on phase 2 of the diet until day 45. You will stay on the phase 3 plan for 3 -4 weeks then start over with phase 1 to lose the rest of your weight. Going Off the Drops
The biggest change that comes with the hCG Diet phase 3 is the elimination of the drops or pellets. You have been on the hCG long enough for it to change the way your body handles fat and to adjust the weight that your body naturally wants to rest at. It is now time to stop the hCG and give your body a rest.
Your New Diet
This is the exciting part of reaching the hCG Diet phase 3: you get to eat more! You have successfully passed the heavily restricted phase of the plan and are now able to eat a wider variety and larger amount of food. There are just a few rules to stick to as you go off your hCG and start phase 3:
- Keep to the strict 500 calorie diet for 2-3 days after going off the hCG drops or pellets. This is enough time for the hCG to work its way out of your system. You can then go up to about 2,000 calories a day or potentially more if you workout and need the energy.
- Continue drinking at least a half gallon of water every day.
- Stay away from starches and sugars. This is your own food restriction, so take it seriously or you can put the lost weight right back on.
- Weigh yourself daily or at least a few times a week. The goal is to stay within 2 pounds of the weight you achieved at the end of phase 2. If it goes up more than 2 pounds you need to take one day and consume only a steak for dinner with one tomato or apple. This one day diet cuts out breakfast and lunch, so drink lots of water. If your weight drops more than 2 pounds increase your calories a bit to put them back on.

As long as you stay within two pounds of your weight at the end of phase 2 and stay away from starches and sugars, you can eat basically anything you want during the hCG Diet phase 3.
If you have achieved and mainained your desired weight, move on to phase 4 which is where you learn to live healthfully without regaining the weight. If you need to lose more, start over with phase 1 for another round of weight loss.
